The U.S. Supreme Court is set to hear to arguments in Moore vs. Harper, critical case addressing the role state courts can play striking down election laws approved by state legislatures. RITE filed a friend of the court brief arguing: \u201cThe text is clear. By its plain terms, the Clause gives state legislatures\u2014not state judges\u2014the responsibility to prescribe the manner of holding congressional elections. The term \u201clegislature\u201d has been well understood to mean a representative body that makes laws, not a judicial body that reviews them.\u201d
