WASHINGTON, DC – Derek Lyons of RITE reacts to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signing into law important election integrity updates.
“Georgia just enacted a new law to better protect its elections from the pernicious outside influence of private funds, including Zuckbucks. RITE’s complaint filed with the State Election Board detailed illegal conduct by DeKalb County in seeking to evade the state’s existing Zuckbucks ban and helped bring this issue back to the forefront of the state’s policy agenda. We will continue working with our allies, including Honest Elections Project and Capital Research Center, to hold DeKalb County accountable for its conduct. We applaud the steps Georgia lawmakers have taken to keep private money and activist agendas out of its elections and to bolster voter confidence that their participation in elections is meaningful. Georgia’s success is measured in its increased rates of voter participation, including in the recent midterm and runoff elections. All states should join Georgia in taking action to combat the relentless schemes of the activist left to cheapen and undermine the sanctity of the electoral process.”
