WASHINGTON, DC – Restoring Integrity and Trust in Elections (RITE), the active counterweight to activist election-debasing efforts, is pleased to announce the arrival of May Davis Mailman as Vice President for Legal, Strategy, and Communications. Ms. Mailman joins RITE after serving in multiple high-profile roles in federal and state government, including as Deputy Solicitor General of the State of Ohio and legal advisor to President Donald J. Trump.
“May is an immensely talented attorney and strategist. RITE is on the front lines protecting the sanctity of our elections from activist organizations at work to upend our democracy with noncitizen voting and unregulated ballot harvesting. Adding May’s impressive experience and natural leadership to RITE will substantially amplify our efforts to combat the unrelenting assault Marc Elias and his allies are waging to debase our elections in pursuit of partisan gain.”
-Derek Lyons, CEO and President of RITE.
Ms. Mailman comes to RITE from her most recent position as an elite litigator for the State of Ohio, where she successfully challenged unlawful federal actions, including the OSHA vaccine mandate all the way to the Supreme Court. Before representing Ohio, Ms. Mailman was a senior advisor to President Donald J. Trump on a wide range of legal issues and was responsible for coordinating major presidential decisions across the government. Prior to entering public service, Ms. Mailman was a litigator in Denver. Earlier in her career, taught sixth grade in Kansas City through Teach for America. May received a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas. She also earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she was the President of the Federalist Society.
Ms. Mailman also serves as a senior fellow at the Independent Women’s Law Center. She appears regularly on cable news, and her writing has been featured in the National Review, the Federalist, Newsweek, The Hill, and the National Law Journal.
